The issues of an aging pipeline network need to be addressed with the implementation of new advanced technologies or by improving the existing ones.
The presentation will focus on the latest generation of the GOTTSBERG leak detection pigs and the development of AI integration to simplify, accelerate and improve the evaluation of recorded run data.
The already pioneering technology which allows to detect leakages that are so small that other technologies are not able to detect them, shall even be improved by implementing intelligent algorithms that simplify the analysis of the data and helps to get faster and more reliable results.
One aim is to automate the precise location of any features by a machine aided kilometerization of the data set. Additionally there should be a classification of interesting signals like leaks and other features in the run to establish a data base for future findings and to provide a list of possible leaks to the analyzing data specialist. This helps not only to concentrate on the important data and avoid spending time analyzing unnecessary signals but also to reduce evaluation times and reduce possible false alarms.
The latest generation of GOTTSBERG leak detection tools will be presented and some examples of automated localization and signal classification will be shown.
