Abstract
SembCorp Utilities Protection Group safeguards around £14 billion worth of high-hazard industrial assets on some of the world’s most important industrial sites. Based at Wilton International on Teesside, its growing customer base is provided with a highly professional and fully integrated emergency response service. It has built an enviable reputation by developing close working relationships with colleagues in the external emergency services, local authorities and other public sector organisations and clients throughout the petrochemical, nuclear, pharmaceutical and heavy manufacturing industries.

SembCorp Protection is actively involved in protecting both COMAH/Seveso sites, and provides a number of industry-standard, around-the-clock Emergency Response services. It’s on and off-site Emergency Control Centres are recognised globally as centres of excellence where staff are trained to the highest international standards.

Effectiveness of response and the safety of those responding to an emergency remain SembCorp’s primary concern. Indeed, SembCorp is one of seven companies on the Wilton International site contributing towards the site achieving the British Safety Council’s coveted Sword of Honour at the first attempt in 2005.
