This Joint presentation will focus on the collaboration, between Kellogg, Brown and Root, Man and Oil Marine and UK Military to develop and design land, floating and submarine pipelines to transfer refined product from offshore to onshore pipeline systems and storage.
The first 5 minutes will explain the history and strategic importance of Land fuel pipelines within the Military Environment detailing low and high pressure surface pipelines, surface laid overland pipelines in particular the Kingham Pipeline Over the Desert (PLOD) in Iraq and also the buried pipeline in Iraq for transferring petrol and diesel to retail storage. Also touched upon will be the WW2 Pipeline Under The Ocean (PLUTO).
The middle 10 minutes will focus on the newly refurbished current capabilities and methods used for subsea fuel transfer pipeline deployment. Research and Design options for newer quicker solutions from industry best practice for disaster relief support for water and fuel supply using submerged, floating and hybrid pipelines that can operate as low as minus 32 Deg C up to plus 60 Deg C.
Options to bypass damaged surface laid or buried metal pipelines using flexible rubber flow lines.
We will also cover contingency planning and construction of temporary pipelines in support of permanent infrastructure involving the UK MOD High Pressure (100Bar) Regulating Valve.
The last 5 minutes will focus on the way ahead, new requirements and developments, system pressures, ease of deployment and multiple use rubber pipelines that can be used both offshore / subsea / harbours and then be re-used for use to support fuel transfer from ship to shore on a quay side along with overland pipeline systems.
This presentation will showcase Industry leaders and a fresh way of thinking when it comes to overland, floating and submarine pipe systems in both Civilian and Military scenarios.
