Covid Measures at ptc 2022

Please note: Following the elections to the Bundestag, significant changes to the coronapandemic regulations were announced on 27 October 2021. As soon as details of these changes are public, they will be integrated into the hygiene concept for ptc Berlin.

To ensure the safety of our participants, a prerequisite for participation in the ptc Berlin is a complete vaccination against or proven recovery from the coronavirus.
This way, we increase the safety against infection beyond our other hygiene measures.
With this step, we are going partially beyond the currently (September 2021) applicable regulations, but it seems appropriate to us, since ptc 2022 is supposed to be an event that brings new contacts and new knowledge to the world and not a virus.

This results in the following scenarios for ptc Berlin:

  Status Entry condition
Participant 1 vaccinated, with EU-COVID certificate Entry to the event.
Participant 2 vaccinated, with non-EU certificate Entry with negative test certificate.
Participant 3 proven recovered from Corona (EU recovery certificate) Entry to the event.
Participant 4 proven recovered from Corona (non-EU recovery certificate) Entry with negative test certificate.
Participant 5 not vaccinated, not proven recovered No entry to ptc Berlin but access to ptc Remote.

Tests (Rapid/Antigen or PCR) must be performed and confirmed by medical staff.
Rapid tests with medical confirmation are offered for a fee at the Estrel Hotel and are valid 24h.

Should you feel uncomfortable with our precautions or need more details on it, please contact us at
If you feel uncomfortable with the vaccination process or have no access to a vaccine, you can always join us at ptc Remote.

Please note that you will always need proof for entry to the ptc Berlin: EU-COVID certificate, recovery certificate, medical confirmation, non-EU certificate and/or negative test certificate.
Please bring them with you to the ptc and have them ready at the entrance control.

  • Only vaccinated or proven recovered persons can participate at ptc Berlin. All other persons are welcome to participate through ptc Remote.
  • 1.5m distance - it is ensured that all trade fair participants can maintain the necessary distance, e.g. through wide hall aisles and floor markings.
  • Tickets - regulated online ticketing with full registration and thus the possibility of contact tracing
  • Tracing apps - We make use of the German Corona-Warn App and strongly invite you to use it.
  • Fulfilment of all required hygiene measures, e.g. sufficient hand disinfection facilities and appropriate information boards throughout the exhibition grounds, intensified cleaning of higher-frequented areas and surfaces, control and quality assurance.
  • Permanent ventilation of entrances, halls and conference rooms by means of state-of-the-art ventilation systems.
  • Wearing of mouth and nose protection on the entire event site (in all closed rooms and halls)
  • Adapted catering concept

As of today, the Federal Government has decided that trade fair and conference participants (exhibitors and visitors) can generally enter Germany, even if they come from a country that is not part of the EU/Schengen area or the group of countries on the German positive list.
Up-to-date information on entry regulations for participants in trade fairs in Germany can be found on the website of the Ausstellungs- und Messe-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V..

EITEP Institute will restrict access to vaccinated and recovered (Geimpfte, Genesene, thus 2G). We do not distinguish which vaccine the participant has received, as long as it is more than two weeks ago.

The Federal Government does, however, make a distinction here: only persons who have an EU-COVID certificate, i.e. who have received a vaccination that was recognized as a Corona vaccine in the respective place of vaccination, are acknowledged. All other persons, although they have received a vaccination (e.g. with Sinovac or Sputnik V), are classified as not vaccinated.

They will be admitted to ptc Berlin by presenting a valid and negative Corona test.

Since we are allowing vaccinated, recovered AND tested individuals (Geimpfte, Genesene, Getestete - 3G) onto the event site as a result, ptc Berlin is a 3G event and does not receive the legal benefits that a 2G event would. At the current time, these would be the dropping of the distance restrictions and the mask mandate. These are two regulations that we would not have abandoned anyway.

The Estrel will have a test center on-site (website).
When you book your accommodation at the Estrel Hotel, you get directly from your hotel room to the conference and exhibition without leaving a building.
You can book your accommodation here.

Test certificates can be obtained from a test center or similar facility.
Usually, you need a rapid antigen test and not a PCR test.

For the rapid antigen test, you provide your personal data for follow-up and an e-mail address for contact at the entrance to the center, have the test conducted by medically trained staff and can already leave the test center.
You will usually receive a 24-hour valid test result as a digital certificate by e-mail in less than 30 minutes thereafter. With a negative result and proof of vaccination, you will then be granted access to the ptc.
Coronatests are not free of charge for those tested and are not covered by the organizer of the ptc. The costs are about 15-20 EUR incl. VAT per test (Estrel: 14.99 EUR).
If you book your accommodation outside the Estrel you can ask your hotel for a test center in your area or find out on the website provided by the the city of Berlin.
