  • Apply for one of the limited “ptc Student Case Competition” tickets.
  • You will take part in an introductory meeting on the ptc conference day 1 (31 March 2020), where you will get general information on the case competition. The different cases will be introduced, and you will be able to select your preferred subject:
    • What can be the role of pipelines in the future energy mix and how should the industry adapt to these changes?
    • How does the industry guarantee a safe operation of the pipelines and what can still be improved?
    • What do pipeline operators around the world do to prevent third party damage to their pipelines?
    • Is there a need within the industry to increase the international cooperation/ standardization?
    • ...
  • Your group of 5-8 people will be supported by a mentor from the industry to help you in working on the question.
  • Your group will work out a plan how to approach the different key persons of the event:
    • Session Chairs
    • Speakers
    • Exhibitors
    • Participants
  • During the 2.5 days conference and exhibition you will have time to introduce yourself to different key persons of the pipeline community in order to talk about your question.
  • In the afternoon of conference day 3 (2 April 2020) all students will meet again and will be able to prepare their final presentation on that day.
  • The final presentations will be held in front of a jury, which will then choose the winner.
  • The results of all groups with the names of the participating students will afterwards be published on the ptc website and in the Pipeline Technology Journal.
  • The members of the winning group will receive a special prize.
  • All participants will also receive a certificate of participation.
  • Students taking part in the competition could attend ptc 2020 almost free of charge (we only ask for a small administration fee of 10 Euro + VAT).
  • Registration deadline for the competition is Monday, 9 March 2020.
