Abstract
Obtaining of reliable data on the condition of the main pipelines is of particular importance when operating in difficult natural and climatic conditions as the development of exogenous geological processes must be taken into account. The application of the airborne laser scanning method (LIDAR) allows revealing exogenous geological processes and determining the rates of their development. The development of exogenous geological processes influences the change in the stress-strain behavior of the pipeline, leads to pipeline displacements and changes in the bend radii of the pipe sections, leading to a loss of stability and reduction of the pipeline strength below the limit values. The data of pigging allow us to identify pipe sections with bend radii and displacements, which in combination with the results of LIDAR makes it possible to determine the causes of bending and displacements. The collection of data on the results of LIDAR, pigging, engineering and geological surveys and data on the causes of the bend radii and displacements allow us to make forecast calculations of the change in the horizontal locations and elevations with subsequent determination of the deadlines and composition of the compensatory measures. The whole cycle of surveys is accumulate in the GIS to use for ensure the safe operation of pipelines. The article presents the results of the study of exogenous geological processes based on LIDAR data, the results of the inspection of pipe section radii from pigging data and the results of identification of the causes for development of pipe section bends obtained on the basis of GIS with the use of results of LIDAR and pigging.
